The Ultimate In Pilates Teacher Training And Consumer Training

Power Pilates is the largest classical Pilates teacher training program and client studio throughout the United States and around the world. We are proud to announce our newest partnership with The Pilates Center of the Southwest and owners, Doug and Alicia Zabrocki.

The Pilates Center of the Southwest, based in the Scottsdale area, is one of the leaders in the Fitness arena by always offering cutting edge programming and highly educated trainers for their clients. Together, Power Pilates and The Pilates Center of the Southwest will bring the most innovative classical training in Pilates for the first time to this area. The Pilates Center of the Southwest not only provides teacher training programs, but also offers a Pilates studio open to the consumer interested in a classical yet modern type of exercise.

The Pilates Method, developed in the early 1900’s by Joseph Hubertus Pilates, consists of exercises on mats or specifically designed apparatus, to improve flexibility, enhance spinal alignment and strength. Dancers have used Pilates technique for decades, including the likes of Martha Graham and Balanchine. It has also been used as a useful tool in injury rehabilitation. The philosophy of Pilates is that by strengthening the core musculature of the body (abdominals and back muscles) most chronic weaknesses and injuries diminish, resulting in significant changes in posture, relief of neck and back problems and helps to form a solid foundation for other forms of exercise and athletics to build upon.

The Pilates Center of the Southwest stands by the classical principles that established Power Pilates as the ultimate source of training and instruction to clients everywhere. With over five hundred exercises, a highly educated teacher is the best resource to a future instructor or client.

The format of training instructors is clear, concise, supportive and systematic. For the first time in the history of Pilates education, teachers learn all the components of this exercise system including philosophy, anatomical components of the exercises, and injury protocol. In addition, our teachers learn the essentials of teaching as soon as they enter the program. All of this is taught in a movement /fitness based protocol, which was the original premise of this work. The results of this program are astounding. Teachers are so highly educated and prepared to start teaching that often their careers begin immediately.
