IFA announces walk don't run for maximum fat loss

The International Fitness Association. An online Fitness Training Center, IFA announced today that the best exercise for losing fat is walking.

According to the American College of Sports Medicine, the ideal heart range for fat burning is between 50% and 60% of the maximum heart rate. It is generally believed that the harder you work, the more fat you will lose. This is a misconception.

Fat burning occurs during aerobic exercise. Heart rates above 80% of the maximum become anaerobic in nature and therefore use a system of energy that does not utilize fat.

Aerobic classes that keep the heart rate at the higher end become anaerobic and therefore do not burn fat. Ideally, walking at around 4 mph keeps the heart rate at around 50% to 60%. Walking can be done everyday and for many more hours per day than running or other high impact exercises without the associated impact injuries. Walking at 4 mph burns 80% of the fat that running does on a per mile basis.

IFA provides a completely free Automated Personal Training Service including a body fat calculator. Also, free is a comprehensive training manual entitled "Fitness ABCs" for online reading or download.

IFA's website hosts sports specific training, frequently asked questions on general fitness, and a list of related fitness links. The IFA also offers a comprehensive online testing and certification program for Aerobics & Fitness Instructors for only $99.

"Most people know more about their cars than the vehicle they travel in the most ... their bodies. We're dedicated to changing that."

Chuck Krautblatt, CEO of IFA, is a certified Aerobics Instructor and Personal Trainer teaching Step Aerobics and Kickboxing Aerobics at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. He is also the Executive Producer of "Chuck's Body Shop" a TV pilot fitness show produced for the Chicago television market.
