A neglected niche in the free weight equipment industry

ProSpot Fitness, the leader in free-weight equipment technology, announces the release of its most affordable model, the P-50. The Atlanta-based company that invented ‘spot’ less free-weight technology has expanded their product line to offer consumers a more affordable way to get this technology into their homes.

The P-50 has the same instant locking feature as our other equipment, but with a lower price, says JJ Birden, former NFL player, ProSpot Fitness co-owner and West Coast Sales Manager. He continues, Our dealers report that the P-50 will be especially popular with hard-core free weight users who don’t want to use selectorized equipment and can’t spend a lot of money to get a great workout. To many people free weights are king, but there aren’t a lot of affordable equipment options for free weight use. The P-50 addresses these needs and will fill a neglected niche in the free weight equipment industry.

Using patented and patent-pending technology, the ‘spot’ less weight training systems from ProSpot Fitness allow users to lift weights without a human spotter, spotting rods, or sliding tracks. Instead, a lifter can release the barbell from any position and the touch-sensitive ‘Grab and Go’ operating system locks the barbell at the point of release. No un-racking or re-racking of the barbell is necessary.

The new P-50 will retail for $995, a price point popular with consumers. The problem with the free-weight equipment category is the lack of quality options for under a thousand dollars, says Mike Slawinski, CEO of ProSpot Fitness as well as its inventor. The P-50 will provide touch-sensor technology in a more affordable option.

Says Atlanta Falcon Travis Hall, co-owner of ProSpot Fitness, I’m really excited about the P-50 because it will enable more people to work out with our Grab & Go technology. I’m totally convinced that this is the future of free weight training and now more people will have access to it. And the fact that its wheel-chair accessible is another outstanding feature you don’t typically find in equipment of this price.

The Grab & Go technology of ProSpot Fitness has been attracting notable media attention. Acclaimed publications such as Popular Science, Men’s Health and Muscle & Fitness as well as television programs such as the TODAY show, CNN, CNBC, and scores of various news programs have promoted the features of ProSpot’s new high-tech free-weight systems.

ProSpot Fitness equipment is currently sold through almost 300 stores nationwide, and international markets include Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan and Korea. It is used by many sports teams including the Orlando Magic, Atlanta Falcons, Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers. In addition many university sports programs use ProSpot Fitness equipment to train their football players, such as the Universities of Texas, Miami, Nebraska, Buffalo, Oregon, Tennessee and BYU.

We’re very happy that consumers throughout the world have realized the value of our equipment, says Slawinski. Our equipment is rapidly becoming the gold standard in free-weight equipment and the P-50 is our way of making this technology available to even more people.
